Lee wins six gold for SSMAC in Sudbury

SSMAC'S BRIAN LEE CAPTURES 6 GOLD MEDALS

Thirteen year old Brian Lee, recorded a stellar performance over the weekend, earning 6 gold medals in the NEOR DEVELOPMENTAL #1 swim meet, hosted by the Sudbury Laurentian Swim Club.

The event attracted 15 teams from the northeastern ontario region. The Sault Ste. Marie Aquatic Club entered 27 members, many of them returning from the two-day competition with multiple top-three finishes.

Swimmers to earn gold medal results in their respective age categories included: Josh Lawrence, age 14 – four golds; Becky Day, age 13 – four golds; Julia Turgeon, age 13 – three golds; Kendall Barban, age 12 – two golds; Miranda MacRae, age 14 – two golds; Sarah Theodossiou, age 13, two golds; Hannah Murray, age 11 – two golds, Steven Lee, age 11 – two golds, Jack Carlyle, age 13 – one gold; Shane Rock, age 11 – one gold; Devon Cavanaugh, age 14 – one gold and Kalen Critchley, age 10 – one gold.

Second place results were earned by Christopher Carlyle, Brendon Wilton and Michael Lawrence.

Coach Nancy Day is excited about the fantastic start for the club. "The swimmers are working hard and having fun, with many of the athletes achieving personal best times. Our Aquatic Club's future is very bright", says Day.
