POTSDAM, N.Y. - Clarkson University, a team that finished 14-2-2 on its home ice a year ago, turned the tables on Lake Superior State, winning Saturday's non-conference hockey game 7-1 in Cheel Arena.

With the victory, the Golden Knights (4-1-1) avenged Friday's 5-1 loss to the Lakers (2-2). They took command early, building a 3-0 lead in the first period. It was 5-0 before LSSU's Nathan Perkovich scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 1:08 of the third period.

LSSU, which finished 5-for-8 with the man-advantage on Friday, was held to 1-for-9 on the power play Saturday. Clarkson was 4-for-14 with the man advantage for the game. Shawn Weller led the Golden Knights with two power-play goals and an assist.

Clarkson out-shot the Lakers, 53-23, as goaltender Kyle McNulty totaled 22 saves for the win. LSSU starting goaltender Jeff Jakaitis totaled 25 saves through 30:06, and Laker freshman Pat Inglis had 21 saves during the final 29:49.
