Laird International Raceway opened the 2006 season on Thursday night with a full slate of stock car action. In the late model division, Michael Gold opened the season with three checkered flags including the feature, four car dash and the heat race.

In the late model division, Michael Gold opened the season with three checkered flags including the feature, four car dash and the heat race. George Wilson won the second heat.

In the modified division, Maverick MacDonald captured the feature race over Jordan Sims, who won both heat races. In factory stock, Bill See won the feature while heat race victories went to John Hamilton and Chris Jones.

In a large stock four class, Jason Herrington claimed the feature win plus a heat victory while Gord Hunt won a pair of heat races and Cody McLean captured the other heat.

Action continues this Thursday beginning with time trials at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
