Due to wet track conditions, Laird International Raceway will take another week to officially fire up the engines on a new year.

Officials have decided to postpone Thursday's scheduled stock car racing opener for the second consecutive week and will instead look to open the season on Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m.

A rain date will announced in the future.

New this season is the LIR membership which will save fans $2 each week through the gates.

Members will pay $12 admission for grandstand seating this season while non-members will be charged $14. Kids 12-18 get in for $6 while those 11-and-under are admitted free.

A membership costs $10 for the year and includes an LIR T-shirt. Membershps are available at Lakeway Truck Centre or at the gate on race nights.

Laird International Raceway is located east of Echo Bay on Lake George Road West off Highway 17 at the Laird Fairgrounds.
