As racers gear up for Thursday's midseason championship at Laird International Raceway, the battle for a points championship is starting to take shape.

With George Wilson banned from the track in the late model division, what looked to be a one horse race has turned into a three-man showdown between Rick Leonard, Michael Gold and Roddy Bolduc.

Leonard currently leads with 248 points followed by Gold with 239 and Bolduc with 227.

In the modified class, Jordan Sims (251) has a 28 point lead over Jerry Artuso (223) while Nick Jobst and Rick Ellis remain 86 and 90 points off the pace, respectively.

With 246 points, Chuck Fawcett holds the factory stock lead at the midpoint of the season. John Hamilton and Chris Jones sit with 214 points each while Dick Wellwood is within reach at 199 points and Bill See has 191.

In the stock four division, Jason Herrington leads with 210 points followed by Dave King (199), Cody MacLean (199), Tyler Parsons (182), Mike Baraluk (172), Donny Mergaert (172) and George Haldenby (170).

Action begins on Thursday with qualifying at 6 p.m. followed by racing at 7 p.m.
