George Wilson had a night off, but Laird International Raceway still enjoyed an entertaining night of racing on Thursday night.

Wilson was suspended by track owner Don Varcoe for two race nights for conduct detrimental to stock car racing. The suspension came after comments made by the Late Model driver in the local media.

Speaking of the Late Models, Rick Leonard won his first feature race of the season beating out second-place Rod Bolduc and Michael Gold, who finished third. The race did have a pair of crashes as Dan Desjardins crashed heading into turn three early on while Charlie Robert and Paul Seabrook came together on the final lap.

Seabrook edged out Leonard and Gerry Artuso in the first Late Model heat race while in the second heat race Artuso picked up the victory while Kevin Jackson finished second and Leonard in third.

In the Factory Stock division, three racers managed to find their way to victories. John Hamilton held off Chuck Fawcett and Dick Wellwood. Wellwood won the first heat race over Fawcett and Hamilton. Fawcett beat out Wellwood and Bill See in the second heat race.

The Modified Division saw Steve Kent make his first appearance in the division as he filled in for an injured Larry Ebare. Kent finished fourth in the Modifieds feature race behind Nick Jobst (third), Lorne Ebare (second), and Artuso (first). Artuso was driving the 86 car of Mav MacDonald.

Jobst won heat one over Artuso, and Jordan Simms, while Artuso won the second heat.

Cody MacLean swept the Stock Four Division by winning the feature race along with both heat races. Mike Baraluck finished second in all three races.
