Laird cancels tonight's races but will run on Monday

Due to the early afternoon storm to hit the area on Thursday, Laird International Raceway has cancelled tonight's races.

Although the weather was expected to clear up for this afternoon, track officials state that there is not enough time to properly dry up the track and grandstand seating area.

The races have been rescheduled for Monday night with qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing to follow at 7 p.m.

Thursday was scheduled to be the track's mid-season championship after the original date two weeks ago was also rained out.
