Thanks to a strong effort on Saturday, the Korah Colts will be well represented when the OFSSA Championships for badminton take place in Timmins beginning on May 3rd.

Korah won three senior events while finishing in top spot in the Midget and Senior overall results to wrap up a strong weekend of competition at the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) championships hosted by White Pines. The Colts also finished third in the Junior Division.

In senior action, Suzy Yan of Korah won the Ladies' Singles title over Leeza Church of Widdifield Secondary School, winning the match in three sets. In Ladies' Doubles action, Brittany Hogan and Kayla Odorizzi of Korah defeated Lo-Ellen's Glendy Lin and Jovana Milaninovic in straight sets. Caping off the strong senior performance by Korah was Ben Ginter and Meghan Roney, who scored a three-set victory over Alyson Tyndall and Zak Whissell of Lo-Ellen.

In other senior action, Mike Stanford of Lo-Ellen won the Men's Singles title over Andrew Jeffrey of Manitoulin Secondary School in straight sets while Lasalle's Dan Mines and Mike Delfante defeated Ian Conell and Brett Davey of Sir James Dunn in three sets in the Men's Doubles final.

Dustin Groudin and Ryan Pietrzakowski of Korah did manage to make an appearance in the Men's Doubles final, but fell in straight sets to Antonio Radford-Paz and Justin Richardson.
