Clint Cudmore and his rink from Korah Collegiate are gearing up for the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association (OFSAA) curling championships in April.

Cudmore and his rink of third Josh Maki, second Travis Semczyczyn and lead Josh Norling, captured the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) championship last week in Copper Cliff in thrilling fashion.

After going 3-0 on Tuesday to advance into the championship draw, Cudmore need only a win to secure the NOSSA crown after suffering his first loss in a meaningless game on Wednesday morning.

In the final against Sudbury Lockerby on Wednesday afternoon, Cudmore, facing two Sudbury shot stones, hit a Lockerby rock and stuck his shooter in the rings to claim the 6-4 win.

The OFSAA championships are being held April 4-7 in Bancroft.

In other local results, Korah's Stephanie Corbett fell in the quarterfinal game on the girls side while Sir James Dunn's Allison Scott finish the round robin at 1-2 and out of the playoffs.

On the boys side, White Pines' Andy Downing finished at 0-3.
