The St. Mary's Knights will have the opportunity to sit back and wait for two other teams to fight it out for the chance to host the Sault's city champions.

With the senior Knights receiving a bye into the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) final on November 12, representatives from Sudbury and North Bay will meet the NOSSA semi-final this coming Saturday in North Bay.

In Sudbury, the Lockerby Vikings secured their second consecutive trip to the NOSSA playdowns by rallying for a 7-6 win over the Confederation Chargers in the city championship game.

Last season, the Vikings fell to the Sir James Dunn Eagles 14-3 in the NOSSA semi-final at Rocky DiPietro Field.

The NOSSA semi-final winner will play host to the Knights in the NOSSA final.

The eventual NOSSA champion will advance to the Central Bowl to face a Barrie area representative while the loser will face a Thunder Bay squad in the Northern Bowl. Both games will be held at Esther Shiner Stadium on Saturday, November 26 in North York.

The newly renovated Esther Shiner Stadium is located on the northwest corner of Bathurst Street and Finch Avenue West.
