Malcolm scores two touchdowns as St. Mary's blanked White Pines

Matthew Malcolm had a pair of touchdowns as the St. Mary’s Knights got into the win column on Thursday night in junior high school football action.

As a team, the Knights ran for six majors in a 61-0 win over the White Pines Wolverines at Superior Heights.

Malcolm scored from one yard out and then from seven yards out later in the contest.

Adam Morgenstern led the Knights run game with 120 yards rushing on 10 carries, which included a touchdown run of 23 yards.

Ashton Lemieux and Reece Martin also had touchdown runs for St. Mary’s.

Jaiden Trudeau caught a 31-yard touchdown pass as well in the win while Hugh Monague recovered a fumble for the other Knights major.

For the Wolverines, Adam Gibson had a big day defensively with nine tackles and an assisted tackle.

The high school football schedule continues on Friday night with a doubleheader between Superior Heights and Korah at Superior Heights. The junior game is set for 4:45 p.m. and the senior game follows at 7:30 p.m.

The junior game between the Steelhawks and Colts will be a battle of 2-0 teams while the Colts senior team will look to move to 2-0 after a bye week last week.
