Knights and Petes set for OHL championship battle

The London Knights and Peterborough Petes were the top teams in their respective conferences during the regular season and after wins on Friday, they will meet in the Rogers OHL Championship Series for the J. Ross Robertson Cup. The dates of the series will be announced on Saturday.

In London, Sergei Kostitsyn scored two goals, including the winner 17:09 into overtime that capped a dramatic 5-4 come-from-behind win that gave the Knights a 4-1 win over the Guelph Storm in the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series.

In Peterborough, Liam Reddox scored two goals and David Shantz turned aside 32 shots to give the Petes a 7-0 win over the Barrie Colts. Peterborough won the series 4-1 to advance to the OHL Championship Series for the first time since 1996.
