Kinross Speedpark opened its second race of the season Friday night with the opening ceremonies honoring Memorial Day. The Michigan National Guard, V.F.W., and American Legion all took part in presenting the colors. A twenty one gun salute and a moment of silence were observed before the racing action began.

The first races of the evening were the four car dashes. Each four car dash includes the top four qualifiers in a class racing against each other. Denny Aho jumped out front early and held on for the Late Model win. Paul Fox started at the front in the Factory Stock dash and held off the other cars for to the win. The Pure Stock dash was won by Larry Young Jr. The 4 Cylinder dash was a close race with Tony Rankin winning be mere inches over Dean Eggart.

Two Australian Pursuit races were run next. Billy Cryderman never got passed and stayed out front for the victory in Pure Stock. Brandy Clawson eliminated the four cars ahead of her while driving to victory in the 4 Cylinder pursuit race.

Tim Aho built a big lead in the Late Model heat race and cruised to an easy victory. The Factory Stock heat race had new track record holder Cecil Piche go from the back to the front for the win. Billy Cryderman led all the laps and survived a green-white-checkered finish while winning Pure Stock Heat #1. Pure Stock Heat #2 was won by Barry Glenn. The 4 Cylinder heat races had Brandy Clawson making a last turn pass on Adam Gardner for the win and Tony Rankin holding off Dean Eggart in the second heat for a victory.

Intermission provided great entertainment with many of the drivers bringing their cars out on the track. Children were given the opportunity to ride around the race track with their favorite drivers.

Fans were treated with some great racing action in all the feature races. Tim Aho battled Denny Aho for many laps before building a big lead and winning the Late Model Feature. Kevin Jackson finished third.

The Factory Stock feature had Pee Wee Fountain and Josh Ware leading early. Fast Qualifier Cecil Piche made his way to the front by lap eight. A late race spin by Paul Fox bunched up the field and made for an exciting finish. Cecil Piche was strong and finished ahead of Todd Jackson and Kevin Johnson.

Randy Touchtone and John Clawson both led early in the Pure Stock feature. Ray Golladay Jr. had the entire field covered and led most of the race. He survived a couple restarts after cautions and finished ahead of second place Larry Young Jr. and Barry Glenn in third.

The 4 Cylinder feature had John Gardner running away with the victory. Dean Eggart finished second and Brandy Clawson finished third.
