The Soo Jr. Greyhounds have fallen on hard times.

That's about the only way to describe how the Jr. Hounds have been playing since winning straight games earlier this season.

The latest setback was Friday night the Jr. Hounds dropped a 5-1 decision to the first place North Bay Skyhawks at Memorial Gardens. A four-point effort from Steve Fillion, who had two goals and two assists, led the Skyhawks to victory.

The loss was for the Jr. Hounds was their sixth in their last seven outings since a 14-game winning streak.

In the first period the Skyhawks did not register a shot until the 10:11 mark of the period but made sure it counted as Sylvain Houle, who played a solid game for North Bay, beat Jr. Hound starter Shane Bellini to give the Skyhawks the lead. Just over 3 minutes later, Fillion scored his first of the night to increase the lead to 2-0.

The Jr. Hounds started the second period with a spark but Fillion gave the Skyhawks even more momentum scoring his second of the night at 10:12. Joey Coccimiglio got the Jr. Hounds back into the game with a power play goal at 15:21.

The Skyhawks put the game on ice in the third period as Ryan McKee and Jerome Briere scored just over five minutes apart to complete the scoring.

Bellini got the start for the Jr. Hounds but was pulled in favour of Rob Cundari after the third North Bay goal.
