The Sault Jr. Cougars Major Bantam Girls basketball team took one of three games last weekend at the UP Connection Tournament at Lake Superior State University.

The Cougars rolled past Cheboygan 38-18 before dropping a 45-22 decision to the Marquette Magic and falling 44-9 to the Michian Sault UP Kavanaugh.

Samantha Hunt and Melanie Thorburn scored eight points each for the Cougars in the win over Cheboygan. Breanna Denneny scored nine points and Taylor Wright eight against Marquette while Thorburn poured in six versus Kavanaugh.
