The Sault Junior Cougars Girls Major Bantam basketball team played their first two Ontario Basketball Association games of the season this past weekend.
At St. Basil, the Cougars split with the Espanola Selects.
In the opening game, the Cougars fell 59-54 as Samantha Hunt led the locals with 13 points and Lauren Speakman added eight.
The Cougars rebounded in the second contest for a 58-52 win as Hunt poured in 11 points and Abby Hurd added seven.
