Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs is one win away from a spot in the 2016 Tim Horton’s Brier.

The Jacobs rink, which includes third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden, finished the round robin portion on the 2016 Travelers Men’s Provincial Championship in North Bay on Saturday morning with a victory over Mike Assad of the Geraldton Curling Club.

Jacobs took the early lead with a pair in the first end.

After three blanked ends, Jacobs would steal a single in the fifth end.

Assad would get on the board in the sixth end to cut the Jacobs lead to 3-1 but the Sault rink would tack on two more the following end.

Jacobs blanked the final two ends after Assad scored a single in the eighth end.

The Jacobs rink awaits the winner of the semi-final match between Jordan Chandler (5-2) of the Sudbury Curling Club and Colin Koivula (4-3) of the Port Arthur Curling Club in Thunder Bay.

The semi-final is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening.

Chandler beat Koivula 7-0 in the final round robin draw on Saturday morning.

The championship is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at North Bay’s Granite Curling Club.
