Ice Breaker Cup results

Sault Ste. Marie played host to the annual Ice Breaker Cup this past weekend with the local Microage 'BB' Wildcats capturing the Bantam BB crown and NuComm claiming the Pee Wee house league title.

In an all Sault final, Microage defeated the AOE 'B' Wildcats 5-0. Mallory Lesage paced the winners with two goals and an assist while Katie Komsa scored twice and Laura Duguay added another.

Mirande Medve recorded the shutout in goal while Brianne Veale and Morgan Tersigni added two assists each.

* NuComm captured the Pee Wee house league championship with a 2-1 victory over the Thessalon Lions.

Jennifer Elliott and Catrina Pastore scored for NuComm while Hayley Julien replied with the lone goal for Thessalon.

* Station Mall advanced to a final but were blanked 5-0 by Traverse City's Bay Home Medical Habs in the Intermediate house league final.

Cara Burch recorded the shutout while Jessica Campbell paced the Habs offense with two goals and an assist. Julia Banducci scored once and setup two others while Samantha Dunwoody added a goal and an assist and Laura Williams scored another.

* In the Senior AA final, the Thunder Bay Fury used goals from Sarah Rowsell and Jill Bodak to defeat the Sudbury Nickel Capitals 2-1. Amy Desforges scored the lone goal for Sudbury.

* In the Midget AA championship, Brittany Ott recorded the shutout in a 1-0 Detroit Honeybaked win over Lansing's Captial Center Pride. Kimberly Theut scored the game winner.

The Capital Centre Pride advanced to the title game with a thrilling 1-0 semi-final victory over the Keweenaw Falcons in five overtime periods. Honeybaked also scored an exciting 1-0 overtime win in their semi-final over the Northern Misstix.
