The Greyhounds won a goaltenders' duel Wednesday, blanking the Saginaw Spirit 2-0 before more than 2,700 fans at Memorial Gardens. Mike Amodeo broke a scoreless tie with his 14th goal of the season at 4:36 of the third period and Scott Dobben notched his 16th into an empty net at 19:27 to give the Hounds a hard-fought win over Saginaw. Hounds' goalie Adam Munro and Saginaw rookie tender Mike Brown both made 37 saves apiece in being named the game's first and second stars. The win inched the Hounds closer to a playoff spot. The Hounds now have 59 points, six more than the ninth-place Erie Otters in the Western Conference standings. The Hounds are actually tied with Guelph with 59 points though the Storm has a game in hand. Erie also holds a game in hand on the Soo, which has five to play in the regular season, including a pair at home this weekend. Guelph is here on Friday and the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday.
