The win for the Hounds was their second straight on the road. They now have a record for the new year of 5-3-1-2 for 13 of a possible 22 points. Jeff Carter scored twice for the Soo in the win over Guelph and has now surpassed 30 goals on the season. The second year centre has 31 goals. Petr Taticek had a goal and two assists for the Soo and Ryan MacKay and Jeffrey Doyle both dented the twine once apiece. Goalie Adam Munro played well for the Soo with 32 saves. Former Hound defenceman Niko Tuomi assisted on two Guelph goals.
