The Soo Greyhounds are finding all kinds of ways to get the job done against the Saginaw Spirit.

On Wednesday night in front of 4,751 fans at the Steelback Centre, the Greyhounds managed just five shots on goal in the third period but three of them found the back of the net as the Hounds rallied to beat the Spirit 5-3 in game four.

The Greyhounds now lead the best-of-seven western conference quarterfinal series 3-1 and can close the deal in game five on Friday night in Saginaw.

Saginaw held the lead in game four three times and looked poised to tie the series up but timely goaltending by Kyle Gajewski, who was the story in game three, and timely scoring down stretch allowed the Greyhounds to seal the victory.

A weak goal by Tlyer Haskins gave the Spirit a 3-2 lead 3:04 into the third period but James Livingston countered for the Greyhounds on a shot from a tough angle at 9:30 to start the rally.

With 5:50 remaining in regulation time, Jiri Tlusty redirected a Dustin Jeffrey pass past Spirit goaltender Ryan Daniels to give the Hounds their first lead of the game.

Tlusty, who also added an assist in the game, capped the scoring with his second goal of the night into an empty net with 14 seconds remaining.

Patrick McNeil gave the Spirit a 1-0 first period lead with a power play goal. In the second period, David Kuchejda on the power play and Josh Godfrey scored for the Greyhounds while Nigel Williams countered for Saginaw.

Jeffrey and Cody Thornton picked up two assists each while Godfrey, who along with Tlusty leads the team with five goals each in the series, set up another.

The Spirit, who were playing without star Ryan O'Marra, outshot the Greyhounds in the game 34-19.

O'Marra, who was hobbling around the Steelback Centre on crutches, injured his left ankle in game three on Tuesday night.

If necessary, a sixth game is scheduled for the Steelback Centre on Sunday at 7 p.m.
