Hounds double up the Wolves

The Soo Greyhounds opened their Ontario Hockey League exhibition season with a 6-3 road win over the Sudbury Wolves on Thursday night.

Cody Thornton and Anthony Perdicaro had solid games for the Hounds and were named the game's first and second stars, respectively.

Thornton scored three goals, all on the power play, while Peridicaro scored once and set up another. Brandon MacLean and Josh Moes rounded out the Greyhounds scoring. Payton Liske added two assists.

Nick Tuzzolino replied with a goal and an assist for the Wolves while Akim Aliu and Geoff Guimmond also scored. Sault product Matt Dias recorded an assist.

Kyle Gajewski started the game in goal for the Hounds and was replaced by Matt Hache midway through the second period.

The Greyhounds outshot the Wolves 39-31.

On Saturday night, the Greyhounds travel to Saginaw to face the Spirit before returning home to host the Wolves on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
