The Soo Greyhounds saw a pair of two-goal leads disappear as the Sudbury Wolves rallied for a win.

Mike Mills scored the only goal of the third period to break a 4-4 tie and claim a 5-4 victory for the Wolves at the Sudbury Arena in a rare Tuesday night game in the Ontario Hockey League.

After Sault Ste. Marie product Matt Dias scored his fourth goal of the season for the Wolves to open the scoring on the power play 3:29 into the game, the Greyhounds clicked three times to take a 3-1 lead.

Cody Thornton, David Kuchejda and Jason Pitton scored for the Hounds with Pitton's marker coming with 34 seconds remaining in the opening frame.

Despite a deflating goal late in the period, the Wolves responded just 10 seconds later as Jeff Christison cut the Greyhounds lead to 3-2 after one period.

Kyle Wharton restored the Greyhounds two-goal cushion 7:08 into the second period but the Wolves took over from there and tied the game with two power play goals from Anton Hedman and Marc Staal late in the period.

The Greyhounds finished the game with a two-man advantage for the final 1:09 of regulation time but could not beat Wolves goaltender Kevin Beech.

Kyle Gajewski stopped 17 of 22 shots in goal for the Hounds while Beech stopped 27 of 31 shots. Benoit Pouliot chipped in three assists for the Wolves while Nick Foligno set up a pair.

The Greyhounds are back in action on Friday in Sarnia against the Sting at 7:30 p.m.
