This past weekend, thirty-eight players were invited to attend the Soo Greyhounds 2006 Prospect Orientation Camp. While the players worked hard at showing off their hockey skills, their parents gathered in the foyer of the John Rhodes arena to share coffee and hockey stories. SooToday got the reaction of three hockey moms to the camp.

Mary-Sue Rivard, mother of local prospect Mike Rivard: "It's been a great weekend. The boys went through dry land training, practice and a game. I've met the other parents and we were made to feel welcome by the Greyhounds' staff. They gave us a tour of the school and informed us about the boys' education prospects."

Linda Chiblow, mother of Blind River prospect Jake Chiblow: "It's been friendly. My son has enjoyed meeting the other players. The Greyhounds' staff made the boys feel welcome."

Joanne McAllister, son of Kingston prospect Joel McAllister: "They did a good job. The weekend was well organized. We got a tour of the school and my son has enjoyed this experience. It's his first OHL prospect camp so we really did not know what to expect. But it was worth the drive from Kingston."
