The St. Basil Saints and Korah Colts each grabbed victories on Friday night in High School Hockey League action at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

In the opener, Andrew Allen scored three times to lead the St. Basil Saints past the Bawating Braves 5-1. Mark Gratton and Rob Amadio added goals for the winners while Tyler Carter replied with the lone goal for the Braves.

In the second contest, the Korah Colts used goals from Luke Critchley, Daniel Ferris and Kyle Marshall in a 3-1 victory over the St. Mary's Knights. Jason Dias scored for St. Mary's.

Action continues on Sunday at Memorial Gardens with three games scheduled. St. Basil opens against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. followed by Bawating and the White Pines Wolverines at 7 p.m. Korah and the Central Algoma Secondary School Huskies conclude the night's slate at 8:30 p.m.
