High school hockey report

The St. Mary's Knights and White Pines Wolverines emerged with victories on Wednesday night in High School Hockey League action at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

In the opener, the Knights used three goals each from Tyler Kasubeck and Jason Dias in an 11-2 win over the Bawating Braves.

Nick Buzanko added two goals for St. Mary's while singles went to Josh Ingrabelli, Jesse McAllister and John O'Connor. Mark Whitmell and Josh Smithers countered for the Braves.

In the second game, the Wolverines defeated the Sir James Dunn Eagles 3-1 on the strength of goals from Josh Reed, James Ishmael and Anthony Silvano. Luke Wilson scored for the Eagles.

Action continues on Friday with a single game at the Desbarats Arena as Bawating visits Central Algoma Secondary School at 5 p.m.

In tripleheader action on Sunday at Memorial Gardens, St. Basil meets Korah at 5:30 p.m., White Pines faces St. Mary's at 7 p.m. and Sir James Dunn meets CASS at 8:30 p.m.
