High school basketball report

The Girls High School Basketball League continued on Thursday with five games throughout the city. At Sir James Dunn, the Eagles swept the Bawating Braves by scoring a 52-35 win in the junior division and a 47-33 victory in the senior contest.

The Girls High School Basketball League continued on Thursday with five games throughout the city.

At Sir James Dunn, the Eagles swept the Bawating Braves by scoring a 52-35 win in the junior division and a 47-33 victory in the senior contest.

Emilie Kozak with 12 points and Steph Davies with 10 led the senior Eagles while Amanda Whitmell scored a game high 22 points for the Braves. In junior, Ali Wytsma paced the Eagles with 11 points while Kelsey Foster added nine and Leeann Schildroth seven. Stephanie Leask replied with 14 points for the Eagles.

At St. Basil, the Saints cruised past the White Pines Wolverines in senior 55-14. Samantha Rainone scored 12 points and Abby DiDonato 10 for the winners while Ashley Clingen topped the Wolverines with seven.

In junior, St. Basil rolled past White Pines 41-20. Angela Bruni led all scorers with seven points for the Saints while Corinna Bruni and Lauren Wozny added six each. Brittany McClelland dropped five points for the Wolverines.

In a lone senior game at Mount St. Joseph College, Christina Medaglia poured in 11 points to lead the Korah Colts past the Royals 50-28. Jaclyn Cummings added 10 points in the win while Alex King replied with 10 for the Mount.

*** TUESDAY'S RESULTS:

In action on Tuesday, the St. Mary's Knights scored a 51-29 home court win over the Royals in senior. Shanna Brown led the Knights with 11 points while Miranda Chaimbrone drained a game high 16 for the Royals.

At White Pines, Clingen tossed in 19 points to lead the Wolverines past Sir James Dunn 46-39 in senior after Schildroth scored 16 points to lead the Eagles to a 42-30 junior win.

At Korah, Sara Levesque's 17 points led the Colts to a 49-35 win over St. Basil in senior. In junior, Corinna Bruni poured in 19 points to pace the Saints past Korah 37-31.
