High school basketball report

The Boys High School Basketball League completed its second week of play on Thursday on three fronts.

At Bawating, Jamie Weldon dropped nine points to lead the Sir James Dunn Eagles past the Bawating Braves in senior division action 36-26. Brett Davey added seven points for the Eagles while Dan Vaz led the Braves with seven points. Ryan Lecuyer and Kevin McCarthy added six each.

In Junior, Jordan Fresque scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Braves past the Eagles 41-39. Dave Giulietti and Nate Edwards added eight points each for the Braves while Danny MacDonald poured in a game high 16 points for the Eagles and Ryan Poser chipped in five.

At White Pines, Christian Johnson scored eight points and Jordan Murtonen seven to lead the Korah Colts past the Wolverines 40-21 in senior. Ryan Reid topped White Pines with six points. In midget, Nate Zachary and Matti Huopalainen scored 10 points each to pace the Colts to a 40-29 win. Dustin Lawrence and Riley Gauvreau led White Pines with eight points.

At St. Basil, Brian Denneny nailed a game high 20 points to trigger the St. Mary's Knights to a 54-24 win over the Saints. Jordan Forbes added 12 points while Tom Campagna, Nick DiDonato and Lance Stewart scored five each for the Saints.

In junior, St. Mary's downed St. Basil 40-33 as Jake Yukich scored 10 points and Ricky Lamon six for the Knights. Mike McMillan scored nine points and Cameron Hugill eight for the Saints. In midget, 22 points from Mike Alexander led the Saints to a 49-45 win. Adam D'Agostino replied with 13 points.
