On Aug 16, Metro Phase1 is coming to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to run a 4-day intensive skill development camp for local athletes. Metro Phase1 is a not for profit organization that has been involved in player development for 10 years.

The organization founded by Wayne Dawkins, a former NCAA Scholarship Athlete at Eastern Michigan, who has worked with and help developed some of the top Canadian talent in recent memory. Denham Brown (UConn), Jevon Sheppard( Michigan), Stephanie Skirba (Michigan) are just a few alumni of this prestigious development program.

Coach Dawkins will be joined on staff by Roy Rana a former Team Ontario Head Coach and currently the Head Coach at Eastern Commerce one of Canada's top High School Basketball Programs. Coach Rana will be returning to the camp from Novi Sad Serbia, which is the site of this year's U19 World Championship, where he is an assistant on Canada's U19 National Team.

Together Coach Rana and Coach Dawkins have worked with elite level high school, university and Professional players and have a passion to share their knowledge with athletes and coaches across Canada. The focus of this camp which will feature 2 sessions, one for boys and one for girls is to teach young athletes in the north what an elite level training environment looks like and prepare them for the challenges of high level basketball.

This is a very unique camp experience, as the focus is on the training of individual fundamental skills. Metro Phase1 will not only be bringing these elite level coaches to Sault Ste Marie, but are also confirming a number of their NCAA Division 1 and Pro Alumni for the Camp. The Metro Phase1 Northern Development Camp will be the first of it's kind in the North. The camp will be held at Korah Collegiate, and cost will be $200.00.
