NEWS RELEASE
SAULT COLLEGE ATHLETICS
*************************
We are pleased to announce our first annual Sault College Athletics Scholarship Breakfast and Silent Auction. The event will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Quattro Hotel. Money raised at this event will help to fund current varsity athletes and allow our coaches to recruit the top players from across the province.

Our Varsity Athletics program at Sault College currently features a national championship men’s hockey team, high caliber coaching, competitive opportunities and state of the art facilities.

Competing in the Ontario Colleges Athletics Association (OCCA), we offer both men’s and women’s competitive team play in basketball, soccer, curling and cross country. In hockey, we compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Division 2.

Our goal is to attract outstanding students with the athletic ability required to compete at the college level. Our Sault College Athletics Scholarship Fund helps us provide the financial assistance needed to support this endeavour.

At this first annual event, we are pleased to welcome one of our own as the keynote speaker. Marty Turco, a former professional all-star goaltender who played 11 seasons in the NHL.

Named “the smartest goalie in the NHL” by Don Cherry, Marty brings a unique perspective to this event. As a former player with the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins, Marty understands the role athletics plays in a young athlete's life.
