HARTSBURG NAMED HEAD COACH FOR 2007 WORLD JUNIORS

Following a Hockey Canada announcement made earlier today, it is with great honour that the Soo Greyhounds announce that Head Coach Craig Hartsburg has been named Head Coach for Team Canada's entry in the 2007 World Junior Hockey Championship.

This appointment comes less than one year after Craig was named an Assistant Coach with the same program for this past winter's tournament.

It was during that time he worked alongside Brent Sutter and Clement Jodoin in guiding Team Canada to a gold medal victory over Team Russia.

Craig becomes the only Greyhound coach to have ever been named to this position, and one of a select group of people who have had the opportunity to both play, and coach, Canada's World Junior Program.

It was back in 1978 that he played alongside another former Hound, Wayne Gretzky, in grabbing a bronze medal.

The 2007 tournament will be held from December 26th, 2006 until January 5th, 2007 in Leksand-Mora, SWEDEN.

It is expected Craig will be absent from the Hounds from early December until early January and will miss approximately 8 OHL games.
