Thursday night was Nick Guerriero's turn to sweep the podium in the Late Model Division at Laird International Raceway.

Guerriero won a pair of heat races and then cruised to the feature win on Thursday. The points race for the division also tightened up as Cory Furkey and Rod Bolduc, who sat second and third in respectively in the points race heading into the night, had solid nights. Furkey finished third in the first heat race and second in the feature while Bolduc finished second in the first heat, third in the second heat and fifth in the feature. Rick Leonard, the points leader in the division heading into the night finished fourth in the feature.

In the Factory Stock Division John Hamilton won the feature race over John Fragale and Rita-Ann Varcoe. Hamilton also topped Fragale for a heat race win. Fragale did manage to win the second heat race with Hamilton coming in second.

In the Modified Division, Mav MacDonald took advantage of David Slingsby being sent to the back by flagman Kevin King just past the midway point of the race and took home the feature win. Slingsby had been leading the race up until that point. Dennis Uhlman finished second while Nick Jobst finished third. Slingsby finished in sixth. MacDonald and Slingsby each won a heat race while Uhlman won the night's lone fast car dash.

In the A-Main feature of the Stock Four Division, rookie driver Morgan Kent held the pole and led the first 11 laps before being overtaken by Brandan Penno on lap 12. Penno led the rest of the way while Kent finished in second spot. The B-Main feature saw Al Lowen and John Gardner earn spots in the A-Main by finishing in the top two spots. Wes Greco, Penno, Tyler Parsons, and Dean Wade won the heat races. Kent finished second to Wade in the fourth heat.

The fast car dashes in all divisions except for the Modified dash were not held due to an accident on the front stretch that led to qualifying being scrapped. A crash just before the start-finish line by Factory Stock driver Steve Demange left a dent in the guardrail and fluid on the track. While track crews cleaned up the mess, qualifying was set aside for one night as drivers were ordered by points.

Action continues next Thursday with qualifying set for 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. There will also be a demolition derby following the night's action.
