The Soo Greyhounds saw their six-game unbeaten streak come to an end but maintain their share of top spot in the west division.

The Peterborough Petes skated to a 4-1 home ice victory over the Greyhounds on Thursday night.

The loss drops the Greyhounds record to 13-13-5 but the club remains tied with the Windsor Spitfires, who dropped a 5-4 decision to Owen Sound, for top spot in the Ontario Hockey League's west division with 31 points each. The Hounds hold a game in hand.

Jordan Morrison and Trevor Hendrikx, on the power play, scored to give the Petes a 2-0 first period lead.

Jeff Carter remained the only Greyhound to have scored in the past two games with a second period marker to cut the lead to 2-1.

But Morrison added some insurance by scoring his second goal of the night past goaltender Kyle Gajewski midway through the third period before Hendrikx added his second of the game into the empty net in the dying seconds.

Greg Stewart recorded two assists while Morrison added another. The Petes outshot the Greyhounds 36-26.

The game was the second of four games for the Greyhounds in a five day span. The Hounds visit Guelph, Erie and Toronto next weekend.

The Hounds faceoff against the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before meeting the Ottawa 67's on Sunday at 2 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Hounds opened their road trip with a 2-1 overtime victory over the Belleville Bulls.
