SOO GREYHOUNDS

NEWS RELEASE

************************* Sunday, October 22, 2006

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is proud to announce that they will be introducing a third jersey in the coming weeks.

The alternate jersey will not replace either of the Hounds common red or white jerseys, but will rather be used on a select number of occasions throughout the season.

Fans will get their first look at the Hounds new look with their three-game home stand starting on Wednesday, November 1 when they play host the Saginaw Spirit.

The new jerseys will be worn for all three games taking place that week.

Starting with the Wednesday game, fans will have the opportunity to purchase one of the new jerseys and related apparel at the Hound Pound on the concourse of the Steelback Centre that night and during any Hounds home game.

In addition, these jerseys will also be available at Four Seasons Collectibles in the Station Mall and Soo Sports Excellence on Queen Street starting Monday, November 6.

"Our organization felt it was the appropriate time to introduce an alternate (third) jersey to coincide with our first season in the Steelback Centre. We feel our existing jerseys (home & away) are among the elite and best in the CHL, however, we felt it was time to introduce an alternate look that can be worn on various occasions but definitely will not replace our traditional uniforms," explained Hounds General Manager Dave Torrie.

"We look forward to unveiling these alternate jerseys to our fans at the game versus Saginaw," concluded Torrie.

Tickets for that game and all Greyhound home games are available by visiting the Steelback Centre Box Office, Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or by calling 759-5251, option #2.
