The Soo Greyhounds couldn't contain the London Knights high octane offense on Friday night to drop their second game in a row.

Sergei Kostitsyn scored once and set up another to lead the Knights to the 4-1 win in front of over 9,000 fans at the John Labatt Centre in London.

The Greyhounds are now winless on their three-game Ontario Hockey League road trip after winning their final two games on last week's homestand. On Thursday, the Windsor Spitfires rallied for two goals in the third period for a 2-1 win over the Hounds.

The road trip concludes on Sunday against the Saginaw Spirit at 2 p.m.

Despite surrendering four goals, Hounds netminder Kyle Gajewski put forth a solid effort as he faced 43 shots and was named the game's third star.

Adam Perry and Josh Beaulieu with a shorthanded effort scored to give the Knights a 2-0 lead after one period. Kostitsyn and Kris Belan then scored in the second frame to build a 4-0 advantage.

Brandon MacLean broke Adam Dennis' shutout bid with his second goal of the season for the Hounds, who fired 30 shots on goal, late in the second period.

Both teams were held scoreless in the third period although Gajewski was forced to stop Kostitsyn on a penalty shot after defenseman Trevor Solomon was nabbed for hauling down the game's first star on a breakaway.

The loss drops the Greyhounds record, the worst in the western conference, to 9-17-2-0 while London, the defending Memorial Cup champions, improve their conference leading record to 19-5-0-2.

The Greyhounds return to begin their final homestand before the holiday break with a return match against the Spirit on Wednesday at Memorial Gardens at 7 p.m.
