Soo North Stars goaltender Thomas Gravelines was recognized for his efforts in the locals' gold medal win at the Telus Cup Central Regional Championships in Waterloo on Sunday.
Gravelines was particularly solid in the Great North Midget League champions' semi-final win over the London Jr. Knights and their championship victory over the Richmond Hill Stars.
Aside from being named the game star, Gravelines was awarded a scholarship from Hockey Canada at the start of the gold medal tilt.
Gravelines and the rest of the North Stars will now look to make a name on the national scene as the team prepares for the Telus Cup National Midget Hockey Championship April 23-29 in Red Deer, Alberta.
