S.U.P.A. Stars!!!

Sault Ultimate throws some cash toward Canadian Tire's JumpStart for Kids. Yes that's a cheque taped to a Frisbee.

Sault Ultimate Players Association (SUPA) members shown are Jen Braun, Heidi Haldemann, Jen Sweezey and Jason Pollard (Animal).

When asked later about the cheque on the Frisbee, Jason had this to say: "Well we wanted to get a picture that was a little more interesting than the regular cheque presentation photo and we didn't have any of those novelty oversized cheques, so we taped a cheque on a disc. Jen wanted to stand on a chair or something but we all told her that was just weird."

The Ultimate Frisbee group raised some cash earlier this summer for the JumpStart program with a pasta fundraiser dinner at the Cellar Tap.

Organized 'Ultimate' is relatively new to the Sault Ste. Marie area and the sport is growing. SUPA has just finished a successful second summer season with about 80 registrants.

Their fall league will start Wednesday, September 13, 6:30 pm and is only $10. Register anytime before September 6.

For registration info or to learn more about the sport visit www.saultultimate.ca, call 941-5080, email [email protected] or just drop by Eastview school field any Wednesday at 6:30 pm or Sunday at 3 pm. No experience necessary.
