Sault product Cooper Foster has signed with the Ontario Hockey League’s Ottawa 67’s.

Foster was a second round pick of the 67’s in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection in June.

At the time, Foster called being drafted “a dream come true.”

Foster joins a 67’s team that features another Sault native in defenceman Jack Matier.

The 16-year-old said having a familiar face around in Ottawa will be important as well.

“It’s a big help just having someone I’m comfortable being around and know well,” Foster said. “It’s someone who can guide me through what’s happening and what’s going to go on and push me if I’m not going hard enough. He can tell me and give me a little bit of a nudge. It’s an advantage for me having him there.”
