********************** SAULT STE. MARIE, Michigan - An early-morning fire today at Lake Superior State University (LSSU) has closed the pro shop in the Norris Center's Taffy Abel Arena, at least temporarily.
No one was injured in the fire which set off an alarm at 4:30 a.m.
LSSU Public Safety Director Bill Whitman said damage was significant to merchandise and equipment, but not to the structure of the building.
The rink and nearby Student Activity Center are open and Laker hockey vs. University of Nebraska-Omaha will go on as scheduled on Friday and Saturday.
Whitman said the Michigan State Police fire marshal will investigate the fire.
