Dolphins make a splash in North Bay

The Soo Y Dolphins swim team travelled to North Bay for the NEOR Development Meet #3 on January 13, 2007. Leading the Soo Y Dolphins in the Eleven year-old age category was Peter Greve. Greve had an impressive five first place finishes in the 50, 100, 200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 200 Individual Medley. Alex Christie had two first place finishes in the 50 and 100 Breaststroke. He also placed third in the 100 Breaststroke and fourth in the 50 Freestyle. Ten-year old Raiden Oliver placed second in the 50 Breaststroke, third in the 50 Butterfly and fourth in the 100 IM. Oliver also had a 5th place finish in the 50 Freestyle and 7th place in the 100 Freestyle. For the Boys 13 and 14 year-old age category, Brandon Corelli brought home a first place finish in the 50 and 100 Freestyle and second place in the 400 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 200 IM. Patrick Bonne placed second in the 50, 100, 800 Freestyle and 400 IM. He also placed third in the 800 Freestyle. Riley Grant placed first in the 50 Breaststroke, second in the 200 Breaststroke and third in the 100 Breaststroke. He also placed fourth in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Leading the way in the Girls 11 and 12 year-old age category, Carrie-Lynne Smale brought home first place wins in 100 and 200 Freestyle, 100 and 200 Backstroke and 200 IM. Bridget Murphy placed second in the 400 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM. She also brought home a third place finish in the 100 Freestyle. Madieson Oliver placed third in the 50 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke. She also had a fourth place finish in the 100 IM and had personal best times in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. Claire McCarthy placed first in the 50 Breaststroke, second in the 100 Breaststroke and 400 Freestyle. McCarthy also placed 4th and 5th in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. In the girls age 13 and 14, Marina Fournier placed first in the 400 Freestyle, 200 IM and 300 IM. She also placed second in the 100 Backstroke. Celine Valiquette brought home two first place finished in the 200 Breaststroke and 100 Butterfly. Valiquette also had second place finishes in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke and also placed third in the 400 IM. Anna Lees brought home three first place finishes in the 100 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke and 200 Backstroke. She also placed second in the 200 Freestyle and third in the 200 IM. Laura Christie had a third place finish in the 50 Breaststroke and two fourth place finishes in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. She also had person best times in the 50 and 100 Freestyle. Olivia Christie, had four first place finishes in the 50, 100 and 200 Breaststroke and the 200 IM. She also placed sixth in the 50 Freestyle. Best of luck to all the Soo Y Dolphin swimmers who qualified for the Regional A and B Short Course Championships in February 2007.
