Northern Ontario ‘AAA’ Bantam Hockey League Award Winners

The Northern Ontario Bantam “AAA” Hockey League is pleased to announce the selection of the individual award winners for the 2006-07 season. Previous NOBHL recipients have included current and former OHLers Bobby Chaumont, Matt Dias, Joe Talbot, Yves Bastien, Matt Caria, Marc Katic and Miguel Beaudry.

This year’s winners are as follows:

League MVP - Justin Lockeyer (Sudbury) Best Defenseman - Dylan Connolly (Sault) Most Sportsmanlike Player - Roch Pellerin (North Bay) Outstanding Minor - co-winners - Darcy Haines and Eric Fraser (Onaping Falls) Coach of the Year - Mark Kosturik (North Bay) Leading Scorer - Mitchell Davis (North Bay) Top Goaltender - Christopher McDougall (Sudbury)

“On behalf of the NOBHL, it gives me great pleasure to recognize our League awards winners”, said League Commissioner Julio Navarro . “This year proved to be exciting as competition was tight and competitive until our final weekend of play. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I congratulate all our winners and wish them nothing but success in all their future endeavors.”

The Northern Ontario AAA Bantam Hockey League is a five team league that is a developmental level for the Great North Midget League, many different Junior A leagues and the Ontario Hockey League. Member franchises include Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Onaping Falls and North Bay.

More than 150 NOBHL graduates have been drafted in to the OHL and another nine have been drafted in to the National Hockey League. The NOBHL is one of the premier leagues for Bantam ‘AAA’ hockey in Ontario.
