City finals set in high school basketball

The city finals are set in girl’s high school basketball.

In senior semifinal action on Tuesday night, Gracie Sloss had nine points and Kyler Grisdale chipped in with seven as the Korah Colts advanced with a 41-27 win over the St. Mary’s Knights.

Mercedes Mazzuca had 10 points for St. Mary’s.

In the other senior semi, Tessa Leveille had 16 points as Superior Heights beat White Pines 52-19.

Taryn Greco added 11 points for the Steelhawks, who finished the regular season with a 9-0 record and in top spot.

Cecilia Holzworth had nine points for White Pines.

Tipoff for the senior final on Friday night is 7 p.m. at Sault College.

In semifinal action for the juniors, St. Mary’s got 14 points from Ashlyn Noble in a 40-15 win over White Pines.

Keira Kent had 12 points for the Knights.

Ava Wessel and Elyce Bowman had six points each for White Pines.

Korah grabbed the other spot in the title game with a 48-23 win over Superior Heights.

Mikayla Tremblay had 12 points and Lucy Lafrance chipped in with 11 for the Colts.

Emmalie Allard had six points for Superior Heights.

The junior final will feature the top two teams in regular season action as the Knights took top spot with an 8-1 record while Korah finished second at 6-3.

Tipoff for the junior final is 5:15 p.m. at Sault College on Friday night.
