CASS sports update

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls basketball teams hosted W.C. Eaket S.S. in North Shore play this past week.

The CASS seniors improved to 5-1 with a 46-36 victory over the Royals. Deanna Hagan with 12 points and Emma Paat with 8 paced the Huskies while Tegan Wiebe had 16 for Blind River.

The CASS junior team improved to 3 wins and 3 losses with a 23-22 win over Elliot Lake. Brittany Hollingsworth with 6 points and Shaylene Kern with 6 paced the Huskies while three Eaket players had 6 points each.

CASS travels Elliot Lake on Oct. 30 and Manitoulin Nov. 1 to conclude the regular season.

*** CROSS-COUNTRY:

The CASS cross-country team competed in the NSSSA champions in Blind River and the midget Boys, junior girls and senior girls all finished third.

Top 10 finishes included: Midget Girls- Nichole Kinzel - 4th, Alexis Lajambe 8th and Kaisha King 11th. Junior Girls Shaylene Kern 7th, Brittany Hollingsworth 9th and Karli Lee 10th. Senior Girls- Karly MacLeod- 6th, Deanna Phillips 8th.

Midget Boys- Ben MacFarlane- 10th, Senior Boys - Colton King -10th.
