CASS goes 3-1 in league play this week

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls basketball teams hosted Manitoulin S.S. in North Shore play on Tuesday. The CASS senior girls improved to 2 wins and 0 losses with a 31-25 win over the Mustangs.

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls basketball teams hosted Manitoulin S.S. in North Shore play on Tuesday.

The CASS senior girls improved to 2 wins and 0 losses with a 31-25 win over the Mustangs. Amanda Hollingsworth with 8 points and Blair McClelland with 7 led the Huskies while Shana Everett had 9 for Manitoulin.

The CASS junior team improved to 1 win and 1 loss with a 34 18 win over Manitoulin. Brittany Hollingsworth with 8 points and Shaylene Kern and Lexie Lajambe each with 6 paced the Huskies. Delaney Campbell had 7 points for the Mustangs.

On Thursday, the girls basketball teams travelled to Blind River to take on the Royals.

In the senior game, CASS defeated WCE 38-11 to improve to 3 wins and 0 losses. Amanda Hollingsworth with 11 points led the Huskies while Tegan Wiebe had 10 for the Royals.

The CASS juniors fell 32-25 and their record drops to 1-2. Shaylene Kern with 8 points and Katie Litalien with 6 paced the Huskies.

CASS now travels to Timmins to participate in the Sister Fay Tournament hosted by O'Gorman high school.

The CASS tournament will be Nov. 2 & 3. The senior division includes CASS, Sir James Dunn, Marymount Academy of Sudbury and Lively. The Junior Division has CASS, SJD, Marymount and W.C. Eaket.
