CASS falls in NOSSA playdowns

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls junior basketball team lost on their home floor in the NOSSA “A” semi-final to Algonquin of North Bay 46-30. Algonquin lead 11-8 at the half.

The Central Algoma Secondary School girls junior basketball team lost on their home floor in the NOSSA “A” semi-final to Algonquin of North Bay 46-30.

Algonquin lead 11-8 at the half. Deanna Hagan lead CASS with 12 points and Marabeth Mills chipped in with 6.

Horizon of Sudbury defeated Algonquin 47-32 in the final. Horizion lead 28-13 at the half. Melanie Rivest had 13 points for Hoizon while Nadine Perron had 13 for Algonquin.

CASS advanced to the semi-final with a 51-29 win over Elliot Lake.

The senior girls played at NOSSA in Elliot Lake where they lost to Marymount (Sudbury) and to host Elliot Lake to be eliminated.
