CASS caps regular season with two wins

Central Algoma Secondary School's boys basketball teams travelled to Espanola for their final league game on Tuesday. The senior boys improved to 7-1 on the season by defeating the Spartans 50-30.

Central Algoma Secondary School's boys basketball teams travelled to Espanola for their final league game on Tuesday.

The senior boys improved to 7-1 on the season by defeating the Spartans 50-30. Corey Myers had 25 points for the Huskies while Dan Young had 8 for Espanola. CASS will host W.C. Eaket on Thursday Feb. 8 at 11am in the first round of the playoffs. Espanola will travel to Elliot Lake.

The junior boys defeated Espanola 51-43 to improve to 7-1. Seth Whitley had 12 points while Colton King chipped in with 11. R. Thibeault had 12 points for the Spartans. CASS will host Espanola in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

The CASS midgets lost to Espanola 52-28. Dennis Larson had 24 points for the Spartans while Logan Jones had 10 for the Huskies. CASS will travel to Elliot Lake on Thursday to participate in the first round of the playoffs.

CASS will be hosting Steven’s Prep School from Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday as part of the the Guy Vetrie Memorial Tournament. Game time is 1:30 p.m.
