Caputo wins twice at Northern Ontario golf championship

Huron Pines Golf and Country Club in Blind River hosted the Northern Ontario Junior Golf Championship this past Thursday.

Sault Ste. Marie 16 year-old Mike Caputo placed first overall in the Boys 14-16 year old Division with a two stroke victory and tied for first in the 19 and under division.

Eighteen year-old Brennan Doyle of Sudbury tied for first in the 19 and under division. Second place in the 17-19 category went to Scott Whalen of Sudbury.

The tournament was a qualifier for the All Ontario GAO Championship to be held July 24-27 in Thornhill, Ontario, where juniors will compete for an opportunity to qualify for the All Canadian Championships in Quebec later this summer.
