Caputo takes NGA juvenile golf title

MIKE CAPUTO TAKES NGA JUVENILE TITLE

Mike Caputo (Crimson Ridge) followed his first round 75 with a 78 to take the Northern Golf Association Juvenile (14 to 16 age division) by two shots over Ty Hummel of the North Bay Golf Club.

William Stuckless (North Bay G.C.) finished third and Nathan Prisel (Crimson Ridge G.C.) finished in fourth.

Caputo's total of 153 was not enough to catch first round leader and NGA Junior Champion Matt Bortolotto (Idylwylde G.C.) who followed up an impressive 73 on day one with a second round 75.

In addition to the overall title, Bortolotto won the Junior Division (17 & 18 year olds) by 14 shots. Brandon Stubbs (Sault Golf Club) finished second with a total of 162. Third was Scott Reed(Sault Golf Club)with a 163 followed by Tyler Kasubeck (Sault Golf Club) at 164.

In the Bantam Division (13 and under) there was a two way tie between Andrew McKenney (Sault Golf Club) and Sam Barber (Sault Golf Club)with a two day total of 161.

Ashley Hummel of the North Bay G.C. took the girls title with a total of 199.

This event was also a qualifier for the Golf Association of Ontario Junior Championships later this summer in Thunder Bay.
