The Canadian entry in the Junior World Cup improved to 2-0 on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory over Sweden in Piestany, Slovakia.

The Canadian entry in the Junior World Cup improved to 2-0 on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory over Sweden in Piestany, Slovakia.

After falling behind 1-0 midway through the opening period Canada got four unanswered goals from Kyle Turris, Brett Sonne, Nick Ross and Colton Gilles. Angelo Esposito added a pair of third period assists in the win.

Sault native Zack Torquato was held off the scoresheet in the win.

Team Canada will now face Slovakia on Thursday before the tournament takes a day off on Friday. The gold and bronze medal games are set for Saturday.
