Echo Bay product Jarrett Burton will be back in the American Hockey League for the 2018-19 season.

The 27-year-old has inked a deal to return to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins next season.

Burton played 52 games with the Penguins last season, scoring nine goals and 19 points.

Burton turned pro after four seasons playing NCAA hockey at Clarkson University from 2011 to 14. Following his college career, Burton joined the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.

Burton has 33 goals and 80 points in 118 career games with the Nailers, the ECHL affiliate of the Penguins and 18 goals and 32 points in 114 games in the AHL with the Penguins.

In addition to signing Burton, the Penguins also inked former Soo Greyhounds defenceman Kevin Spinozzi to an AHL deal.

Spinozzi joined the Penguins last season after making the team out of training camp as a free agent on a professional tryout agreement. He signed a contract with the Penguins in December and split the 2017-18 season between Wilkes-Barre and Wheeling.
